Don’t Text and Drive! New York Times front page story is a MUST READ
Like I said before, today was anything but a slow news day. The front page of the Sunday New York Times has a great article about the national problem of distracted driving from cell phone use and from text messaging. Here’s a link because I think it is a must read for all drivers: Driven to Distraction: Drivers and Legislators Dismiss Cellphone Risk. The most interesting part about this story is the disconnect between clear evidence of distraction and an overwhelming fact that huge numbers of drivers continue to engage in this at risk behavior.
This story is a must read for new drivers, parents of new drivers, and legislators who are grappling with how to treat this issue with laws regulating safe driving conduct.
